Fundraising Programs

Santa Lucia relies on the fundraising efforts of school families, alumni and friends of our school to support our operating budget and help fund special projects.  We invite each of you to get involved in the way that is most meaningful to you:  as a donor, a volunteer, a sponsor or a participant.  Follow links throughout this article for more information about each program.

The Santa Lucia School Board offers a number of ways that school families can meet the $500 Mandatory Fundraising Commitment (MFC) that is required of them annually.  The programs include a candy sale held each fall; taffy apple sale, and the Mixed Bag sale.  Santa Lucia students enjoy the annual Walk-a-thon in May, in which they walk to ArmourSquarePark.  Students gather pledges from friends and family and enjoy a picnic in the park before they resume their walk and return to school.  Neighborhood businesses are invited to become involved as sponsors and parent volunteers are welcome to walk with the children.  The Santa Lucia community turns out in full force for “pick three raffles” when they can enjoy both games of chance and a casual evening with friends, all to benefit Santa Lucia School.

The Parents’ Association builds community at Santa Lucia and sponsors fundraising events that provide the fund for student enrichment activities and finances special programs or investments in the institution.  In recent years, the Parent Association fundraising has augmented the school’s technology budget and paid for classroom enhancements like window shades, new desks, paint, etc.  Parents’ Association fundraising events include the Halloween Party, open to all children the parish, a Bunco party  for all adults of the parish, and the Christmas Carnival which is held on a Saturday in December (this year’s date to be announced) and is open to the public.

Sports fans in the neighborhood don’t miss the Sports Association NFL Championship party which will be held on Sunday, January 20.  Watch the games right here at Santa Lucia School with other fans, enjoy great food and beverages and perhaps a card game or two.  Contact us for more information.

We are planning an adult cabaret for February to be held at the Italian American Club.  Don’t give up your day job just yet, but think about how you might want to be part of this great spirit-building event.  The date will be announced soon.
