  1. What are the school hours? What grades do you offer? 

    The Santa Lucia day runs from  8:00 am to 2:30 pm with before and after care.  We have pre-school through eighth grade at Santa Lucia.

  2. Is child care offered before and after the school day?

    We are proud to say that we offer the most flexible Extended Care hours in this part of the city:   Morning 6:45 to 8:00 and After Care 2:30 to 6:00 pm

  3. Do you offer financial aid? If so what is the process to apply?

    Several sources of financial aid are available.  The process starts by contacting the principal who will provide application forms and work individually with each family on criteria.

  4. What is the student: teacher ratio?

    Our small class size allows us a great deal of flexibility in the structure of our school day.  The average Student-Teacher Ratio at Santa Lucia is  13-1.

  5. What is the school’s curriculum?

    The same subject areas that you would find in a public school are taught at Santa Lucia and aligned to state and CORE standards:  reading, math, science, social studies and Language Arts.

  6. How is religion incorporated into the curriculum? Do you accept non-Catholics?
    A formal religious instruction class is taught daily but religious values are supported across the curriculum. You do not need to be Catholic to attend Santa Lucia.
  7. What special classes do you have?

    Foreign language, art, musical instrument instruction, technology, after school math and science classes, newspaper and student government.

  8. How much homework will my child receive?

    Homework is assigned as needed to support class instruction.  The amount and type of homework is aligned to curriculum and grade level.

  9. What extracurricular programs do you offer?

    Students are encouraged to augment their classroom work with activities that help them stay involved in the school community.  We offer student council, school newspaper, math and science clubs, chess team, drama/music shows, basketball and volleyball teams.

  10. Do your students wear uniforms? Where can they buy one?

    Students in grades K-8 wear a formal uniform.  Pre-school students are not required to wear this attire.  Students in K-8 wear a gym uniform on gym day. Dress down days are allowed on occasion.  Uniforms can be purchased through Schoolbelles.

  11. Do you offer a hot lunch program?

    The Archdiocese Food Service Program offers a daily hot lunch that can be chosen from menus issued in advance.   The program has two entrees daily; you may order hot lunch for as many days as you like and pay by the month when you submit your choices.
