Literally meaning “to light” or “illuminate,” St. Lucy’s name reminds us of what our school has always been about: guiding children toward a lifetime of success, both academic and otherwise. And since opening our doors in 1961, we’ve done just that – with the simple belief that creativity and community are fundamental parts of every child’s growth.

St. Lucy’s is proud to be a small school in a big city.  Nestled in one of Chicago’s oldest and proudest neighborhoods just off the Dan Ryan expressway we have brought that neighborhood feeling into our school.  St. Lucy’s is about community — inside and outside the building.  We are proud of our small class sizes, our outstanding test scores and the warm and welcoming environment that is our hallmark.  Come visit and learn more about Santa Lucia!
